I eat this for breakfast almost every morning. I no longer feel emotional pain.

Ingredients

  • 1 serving (1 packet) Huel "Mac and Cheeze" nutritionally complete vegan instant meal
Note: This product has sadly been discontinued in some countries. The closest reasonable alternative is the "Cajun Pasta", or some other easy-to-prepare Mac and Cheese that you enjoy. The challenge was always finding one with good nutrition and enough fat to stand up to an irresponsible amount of chili heat.
  • 8.75 oz. boiling water
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Marie Sharp's Original Hot (white label) habanero sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp Bertie's Trinidad Scorpion pepper sauce
  • 1 tbsp dried crushed bird's eye chilies, e.g. Thai chilies (prik bon) - these are also nice cooked into a chili oil and added that way, if you're feeling fancy
  • 1 tbsp Indian red chili powder (lal mirch) (I like a 50/50 blend of kashmiri/deggi and "extra hot" so you get both bright red color and heat)

Directions

Mix ingredients. Microwave for 15-20 seconds to return to boiling and cover, preferably in a Huel pot with screw-on lid, for 25-30 minutes for pasta to cook and dried chilies to rehydrate.

Eat slowly. Serve with black coffee, nicotine and a skeptical outlook on humanity.

When prepared with Huel, this provides 400 kcal and 20% of your daily vitamins and minerals, plus an extra 10-20% of daily fiber and vitamins A, E, B2 and B6 from the significant chili content. The finished dish is extremely spicy, between 15,000 and 25,000 Scoville, and is likely to make you very ill if you're not accustomed to spicy food. Look, hot chilies have numerous proven health benefits, so you can either keep drinking lemon water with a pinch of cayenne pepper and pretending that's going to benefit your health, or you can tango with this, the Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster of breakfast time.
