Heat half the butter in a pan over medium heat until foamy. Spread cilantro chutney on one slice of bread, top with dal and arrange onion slivers on top of that. Sprinkle lightly with garam masala. Leftover dal tadka becomes a tasty grilled sandwich.
Ingredients
- 2 thick slices sandwich bread (rustic seeded bread is nice)
- 2 tsp butter
- 1/2 cup dal tadka, previously chilled to thicken
- 1 tbsp cilantro (coriander) chutney
- 1 very thin slice onion
- Dash garam masala
Notes
Coriander chutney should be available at any Desi market.
